The Pioneers in Polycarbonate Multiwall Sheets
In 1976, Polygal conducted a series of experiments using Polycarbonate - a material developed in the 1960's for industrial applications - to produce multiwalled sheets. The experiments succeeded and Polygal became the first manufacturer in the world to produce a Polycarbonate structured sheet. The success of this product and its potential applications were immediate and far-reaching. Over the years and until today, Polygal has maintained its innovative edge over the competition and won the Best Innovation Award of the European Plastics Converters competition in July 2007 for a Ski Tunnel project in Uusikaupunki, Finland.
